How do you stay encouraged in a discouraging world? It is easy to get discouraged when it seems that there is one trial after another and there is trouble on every side. What will help us to go on?
Stay Encouraged
(a) Encourage one another. Hebrews 10:25-31 tells us not to neglect assembling (gathering) together with other saints, so we can encourage one another to never give up.
(b) Encourage ourselves in the Lord. Pray! Read the word! Think on the good things God has already done! Trust God to handle it!
When David was in distress; he did it! (1 Samuel 30:6)
· Stay Hopeful- This is where our faith kicks in! In 2 Corinthians 4:7, Paul speaks of a treasure that is distributed in these limited and common human vessels, that through faith in Christ, it gives us strength to go on when we don't think we can make it. It also energizes us when we grow tired and weary. vs.16, so that we don't give up.
· Stay Motivated – The promises of God is our motivation not to give up. God has a plan to restore us and Jesus gives us a second chance. Our trust is in leaning on the promises of God. When life seems hopeless, “Take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded” (2 Chronicles 15:7).
Paul wrote of all the suffering he endured in his service to the Lord and how God brought him out of every situation, (2 Corinthians 1:8-11). The enemy will tell you that giving up is an option and will give many excuses as to why you should. But, when you allow the Spirit of God to lead you, God will reel you back in. The outer man is weakened , but the inner man is strengthened through Christ.
When tough times come, ''Don't Give Up! Look Up!'' The faithful servant will keep on keeping on when other people choose to give up. He knows that even in death, he will be resurrected, as Christ was and he will spend eternity with Him in a glory that will far outweigh and outlast the momentary suffering of this life...If you don't Give Up.
For our present troubles are quite small and won’t last very long. So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.
-2 Corinthians 4: 17
