There's A Lesson In The Storm Matthew 14:22 -32

In this passage of scripture we find the disciples in a boat in a storm. Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.

The Lord assured them that there was no need to be afraid, that it was Him. Peter said “Lord, if it’s you, tell me to come to you on the water.” When Jesus said “Come” Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water towards Jesus.

As a strong wind blew Peter got scared and distracted. He took his eyes off Jesus to give attention to the storm and began to sink. Crying out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

What Does This Storm Teach Us?

· Don't be distracted by the storms ; Keep your eyes on Jesus.

· There is a purpose to every storm in life, and a plan beyond every storm.

· God may take us to a storm, and through a storm; but he never leaves us in the middle of a storm.

· Storms refine our faith. Adversity stretches us, and causes us to trust more and more in Christ.

· We cannot control the storm, but we can trust the One who does.

When Jesus and Peter climbed into the boat, the wind died down and those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

God will take us out of the storm and put us back in the safety of “the boat”.

We probably don't want to hear this during the storm; but it is a definite promise that God will use the storms for His glory and our good.

Romans 8:28 tells us, "All things work together for good for those who love Him and are called towards his purpose."

Be Blessed!
